Back to in-person classes meant it was Back to Business. As VP of Marketing of Alpha Kappa Psi, the world’s largest and oldest professional co-ed business fraternity, I spearheaded my chapter’s marketing campaign for our Fall 2021 recruitment, resulting in the biggest turn-out to date with over 350 sign ups, and 100 rushees. Our theme was inspired by the film “Back to the Future,” and we took elements of the 90s/Y2K era throughout our flyers, social media posts, and marketing content. We advertised to the student body digitally through Instagram, Facebook, email, and online discussion boards, as well as in-person by tabling on campus and near the dorms, dorm storming, and chalking. Leading my digital media and design team, we were able to produce a rush video, design t-shirts for the entire chapter, and implement engaging social media strategy, like Instagram takeovers and Reels.
Throughout the semester, our Instagram account reached 8,359 accounts (28.8% increase), engaged 552 accounts (73%), and had a total of 1,097 followers (6.1% increase). We had 140,343 impressions (146% increase), 14,423 profile visits (152% increase), and 261 website taps (75.1% increase).
